The 24 overlapping air chambers in the trousers work in controlled sequences, with pressure and programmes adjusted before each session. Choose from six aesthetic programmes and 16 physiotherapy algorithms and adapt pressure, gradient, pace and cycles to the session and the customer’s needs. These settings give businesses a clear process for providing individually adjusted compression massage.
One programme follows principles from Vodder’s manual lymphatic drainage. The sequences control how compression is distributed across the treatment area. The method supports an adapted treatment plan and does not replace individual medical assessment.
After preparation and programme start, the unit runs the selected compression sequence automatically. Staff remain responsible for suitability checks, fit, settings and follow-up and should be available during the session.
The trousers’ zips allow the fit to be adjusted. Wideners are available where needed. Correct sizing and positioning help the customer rest comfortably while staff check that the pressure feels comfortable.

BOA Max 2 is a certified medical pressotherapy device that uses air pressure in compression trousers to provide sequential compression massage. Sessions can support lymphatic and venous return and be used for relaxation and the feeling of tired, heavy legs. Swelling and diagnosed conditions require an individually assessed treatment plan. Results vary, and sessions do not replace medical investigation of new or unexplained symptoms.
The trousers have 24 air chambers in total, twelve per leg, covering the feet, legs, hips, buttocks and abdomen. The chambers overlap and inflate and deflate in a controlled sequence. Gradient adjustment allows pressure to vary between areas.
Pressotherapy uses air chambers to create programmed compression. Manual lymphatic drainage is performed by hand and can be adapted continuously by the therapist. BOA Max 2 has a programme that follows Vodder principles for lymphatic drainage, but an automatic programme is not the same as a complete manual treatment. For medical conditions, methods and combinations are selected through individual assessment.
The unit has six preset aesthetic programmes and 16 individual physiotherapy algorithms. Pressure gradient, tempo, pauses and the number of cycles can be adjusted. Programmes cover areas including lymphatic drainage, sports massage and relaxation. A session typically takes around 45-70 minutes, depending on programme and settings. Allow additional time for suitability checks, fitting, cleaning and follow-up. Aesthetic programme names do not guarantee fat reduction or a particular result.
Some customers experience relaxation or lighter legs after a session. Effects on swelling, symptoms or other goals vary with the starting point, session plan and outcome being measured. Significant results cannot be promised after a fixed number of sessions. Reduced fluid retention is not the same as reduced fat mass, and post-exercise use does not guarantee faster muscle recovery.
Always review health information and contraindications before a session. Known or suspected blood clots, heart failure, arterial circulation problems, active infection and open wounds in the treatment area are examples that need to be excluded or managed in line with the instructions for use. Pregnancy, active cancer, recent surgery and unexplained swelling require additional assessment. If suitability is uncertain, postpone the session until the responsible healthcare professional has assessed it.
The compression sequence runs automatically after start, but staff responsibilities remain. Customers first need suitability checks, help with fitting and appropriate programme and pressure settings. Staff should be available to check comfort and stop the session if needed. Allow time for preparation, supervision, cleaning and follow-up even while the programme itself runs automatically.
Yes, a BOA jacket with 24 air chambers is available as a separate upper-body accessory. The trousers and jacket are different garments with different treatment areas. The control unit weighs 13 kg and measures 41 × 43 × 15 cm in width, depth and height. It connects to 110-230 V AC. You also need a suitable treatment couch or recliner, space for hoses and access for staff to assist the customer. The control unit dimensions therefore do not represent the full treatment space. Placement and setup follow the installation instructions.
Maximum apparent power is 110 VA. VA describes electrical loading and is not the same as active power in W or energy consumption in kWh. Actual energy use needs to be measured for a given session setup. The calculator’s operating allowance is a financial assumption and should not be read as a measured electricity cost.
Follow the cleaning instructions for the control unit, hoses and garments and use the recommended hygienic liner. Check hoses, connectors, zips and fit before use. Allow time for cleaning and checks between customers. The business is responsible for routines appropriate to its setting and the sessions it offers.
Sessions can be sold separately or included in packages and memberships. Use the average price the business actually receives after discounts and count only customer sessions that generate the revenue entered. A customer testimonial or another business’s revenue is not a promise of results. The calculator shows revenue after an operating allowance; staff and several other costs need to be included in your own budget. The default calculator price is SEK 850 including VAT, equivalent to SEK 680 excluding VAT at a 25% VAT rate. Adjust the average price to reflect packages and discounts.
