Measurable luxury: seven ways the world's best spa hotels are personalizing wellness

From Mandarin Oriental to Four Seasons — here is how seven of the industry's most award-winning hotels and spas have made body analysis a part of the guest journey.

What unites Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, Royal Mansour, and Zannier Île de Bendor is not just Forbes stars and accolades like World's Best Resort Spa. It is a shared decision: to make body data an integral part of the guest experience — not just an add-on.

Seven of the world's leading hotel and spa brands have recently integrated Visbody's 3D body scanning into their wellness concepts. But the interesting part is not the technology itself. It is how differently they have chosen to do it.

The challenge shared by the most award-winning spa hotels

For a premium hotel, it is no longer enough to offer a wide range of treatments, classes, and activities. Every guest arrives with a different physical profile, lifestyle, and set of goals — and a generic program can provide an excellent experience without giving wellness experts the objective insights they need to understand where the guest actually stands.

The challenge is the same regardless of how many stars or awards a hotel has: how do you connect a deeply personal, seamless guest experience with truly measurable insights about the body — without it feeling clinical or disrupting the premium atmosphere the guest is paying for?

This is where several of the industry's most award-winning players, independently of one another, have arrived at the same answer. Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino — which holds a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating and was named World's Best Resort Spa, Europe's Best Resort Spa, and Greece's Best Resort Spa in 2025 at the World Spa Awards — has built body analysis into its wellbeing consultations. Zannier Île de Bendor's newly opened wellness center, Rēsonance, goes a step further, building the entire journey around an initial Visbody analysis as the foundation for five different wellness programs.

The fact that several independent top-tier players, without copying one another, are choosing the same type of solution to the same problem is no coincidence. It is a sign that the industry is redefining what "personal" actually means.

CVK Park Bosphorus Hotel

Four ways to integrate body analysis into a hotel spa

What sets these cases apart is not whether they use Visbody — it is where in the guest journey it is placed.

As part of the retreat Four Seasons Resort Bali weaves a 15-minute Visbody analysis for two guests directly into its wellness retreat offering. Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino does the same in its four-day retreat with Laura Dodd — the scan becomes one of several components alongside yoga, massage, and breathwork, rather than a standalone measurement.

As a membership and long-term follow-up REVĪVŌ Wellness Resort has incorporated quarterly Visbody scans into its Foundation membership. This turns the analysis into an ongoing engagement rather than a one-off service — the guest returns, sets new goals, and tracks their progress over time.

As part of a diagnostic menu Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay and CVK Park Bosphorus (Marga Bosphorus) have included the scan as a named 15-minute treatment among other advanced diagnostic tools — skin, mineral, and body composition analysis. Here, Visbody becomes one of several data sources in a broader medical wellness profile.

As part of the fitness experience Mandarin Oriental, Muscat has instead placed the scan in its fitness center, where it complements traditional personal training and provides the guest with a more engaging, tech-driven fitness experience — with the option for follow-up scans to visualize progress.

What this means for your hotel or spa

The point of these cases is not to buy a scanner. It is to decide where in your guest experience it creates the most value.

Some questions worth asking yourself:

  • Where does your guest journey begin today — at check-in, during a consultation, or only when the guest books a specific treatment?
  • Where would an objective baseline make the biggest difference: upon arrival, integrated into a retreat, or as recurring follow-ups over time?
  • Do you already have a diagnostic or consultation structure that a 3D body analysis could naturally become a part of — or does it need to be its own named experience?

The seven examples above show that there is no single right answer. But they also show that measurable wellness is no longer an outlier — it is a new standard among the industry's best.
